Are Overnight Oats Healthy?
Absolutely! Overnight oats are a great source of fiber which gives you a nice energy boost and helps keep you fuller for longer so you’re less likely to go searching for sugary snacks later in the morning. They’re also full of added nutrients from fresh fruits, nuts and seeds! I love that these triple berry overnight oats have 15 grams of protein, making for a balanced and healthy breakfast meal.
Ingredients in Berry Oats
You’ll only need a few simple ingredients to get started! Here’s what’s in berry oats:
- Milk – I like to use 2% milk for higher protein, but almond milk, cashew milk, oat milk, or pea protein-based milk all works great!
- Vanilla Greek Yogurt – The vanilla adds a sweet cream flavor to these oats that’s so good. Feel free to use any type of Greek yogurt that you have on hand!
- Mixed Berries – Fresh or semi-thawed frozen for the berry milk. I also like to add freshly sliced berries as a topping! Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries – any type of berry is perfect.
- Maple Syrup – Honey is a great substitution.
- Chia Seeds (opens in a new tab) – I love adding chia seeds to overnight oats because they add healthy protein and fats. Plus they make the texture even thicker!
- Rolled Oats – The base for any overnight oats recipe.
- Almond Butter (opens in a new tab) – Optional, but so good! A drizzle of creamy almond butter really brings everything together.

Other Topping Ideas
- Chopped Walnuts
- Drizzle Honey

These are delicious!! How long are they good for in the fridge. Wondering if I could make a batch and eat them all week?
Hey Faith! They store for 3-4 days in the fridge. However, You can make up a large batch, portion out into individual servings, and store in the freezer for up to a month! I love doing this. Just pull one out of the freezer to defrost overnight in the fridge, add your toppings, and enjoy!
This was my first time making overnight oats and they’re absolutely delicious! The oats were very soft and blended well with the chia seeds. We make these weekly and like to add bananas and fresh cut pineapple chunks on top along with the berries. I did a full video review on my YouTube channel, The Real Deal Recipe Reviews, where I always try to make recipes as written and give honest reviews and opinions. This easy, healthy breakfast idea is worth 1,000 stars!
Thanks for the review, Daryl! I’m so glad you enjoyed this overnight oats recipe!
