Ingredients/Substitutions

All-Purpose + Whole Wheat Flour – A mix of all-purpose flour and whole wheat flour makes for the perfect texture. However, feel free to substitute more all-purpose flour for the whole wheat flour if desired.

Cocoa Powder – Use a vegan cocoa powder (opens in a new tab) (or cacao powder (opens in a new tab)) to make these chocolate cookies!

Vegan Butter – This recipe calls for vegan butter, but slightly melted coconut oil works great, too!

Granulated + Brown Sugar – A mix of both granulated and brown sugar sweeten these vegan cookies to perfection.

Cashew Butter – The cashew butter in this recipe helps add moisture and bind the cookie dough. Another option is to use almond butter instead!

Vegan Caramel – This date caramel recipe is the star of the show! However, using store-bought vegan caramel (opens in a new tab) is a great option as well.

Vegan Chocolate Chips – These chocolate chips (opens in a new tab) are vegan and so perfect for these cookies!

Sea Salt – Sea salt flakes or pink salt are both great for topping of these caramel chocolate cookies. So yummy!

These look amazing! I’ve been trying to limit my sugar intake lately too for health reasons and you can really feel the difference immediately just by removing added sugars from your diet. I also started drinking green juice without any fruit so I relate to the girl you saw haha

I’ve been doing so good staying away from sweets with heavy butter, eggs and cream. I saw this recipe and it just called to me. I made a batch and they turned out so tasty that they are going to be my go-to recipe when I have a craving for something good and sweet. I love chocolate and caramel and together they are a mighty duo.

These cookies are so easy to put together and the best part is, it does not need any fancy ingredients. The dates give so much flavor to the cookies.
