  • Whole Milk Plain Yogurt (or Sour Cream)
  • Lime Zest
  • Lime Juice

How to Make Cilantro Lime Sauce

There are two methods for making this Cilantro Lime Sauce:

Method #1 – Mix Together

Place the plain yogurt, lime zest, lime juice, finely chopped cilantro leaves, and salt/pepper (to taste) in a salad shaker (opens in a new tab) or bowl. Shake or whisk together!

Method #2 – Blend

Place the plain yogurt, lime zest, lime juice, finely chopped cilantro leaves, and salt/pepper (to taste) in a blender (opens in a new tab) or food processor and blend until smooth.

Notes/Tips

  • The mixing method tends to result in a thicker sauce, while the blending method results in a thinner/runnier texture.
  • If you plan on using the sauce as a dip, you may consider the mixing method. If you plan on using it to drizzle over food or as a salad dressing, the blender method may be best!
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of lime juice in this recipe to your own personal taste and desired texture.
