When I started this blog in 2015, it was a way for me to force myself to eat healthier and stay away from junk food. Because if we’re being honest, fried, salt loaded, high calorie junk was (and sometimes still is) my JAM! But I was determined to find ways to eat healthy and still love the way my food tastes.
Fast forward to today: I love healthy food! But salads…..let’s talk salads, shall we?
I’ve always struggled to love (or even like) salads. There are a few exceptions to my general feeling towards salads, however. The first exception being a creative salad with unique elements, like this Roasted Beets & Sweet Potato Salad (opens in a new tab)! The second exception being a delicious, homemade salad dressing. A good dressing can really take a salad to the next level!
This 10-Minute Healthy Ranch Dressing is DELICIOUS and lasts up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator!
Y’all. This stuff is the REAL DEAL. All of my fave things about traditional ranch dressing, but lightened up and healthy. It’s also loaded with probiotics and more delicious things because it’s made with whole milk kefir! Have you tried kefir before?

I recently discovered Nancy’s Organic Whole Milk Kefir (opens in a new tab) for the first time and instantly became obsessed. I even made these Maple Cinnamon Pecan Overnight Oats (opens in a new tab) with the vanilla flavor and it was SO good – oh my goodness! Really wish I could let you sample them through the screen right now (c’mon technology!), but you’ll just have to trust me and head over to the recipe.
Since then, I thought I’d try the plain flavor out in this 10-Minute Healthy Ranch Dressing recipe, and let’s just say WOW. I mean, no big deal, but it basically makes this recipe! Not only is it incredibly creamy and delicious, but we’re talking more than 56 billion live probiotic cultures in each serving of Nancy’s Organic Whole Milk Kefir. (opens in a new tab) So in other words, A LOT of probiotics in our ranch dressing, here. Now that’s something to get excited about!

Made this for my toddler and served it to her with cucumber slices. She ditched the cucumber, picked up the measuring spoon, and started drinking it like soup! It’s a hit over here haha! Thanks for this recipe.
That is adorable! Thanks for giving it a try!
I want to try this recipe except with a little buttermilk added and a little less kefir since most ranch recipes call out buttermilk.
I made this the flavor is spot on I used dairy free harmless harvest dairy free coconut PLAIN yogurt consistency was perfect here’s my problem It has an underlying sweetness to it that i don’t like It is the same with the dairy free oat yogurt as well I’m pretty ;limited in my yogurt choice allergic to soy and nuts and seeds i even tried to find a rice yogurt but don’t think this is an option none to be found
So what would you suggest to get the sweetness outta this lol I tried vinegar but its still there YIKES HELLP It’s almost there I’ve been trying for 2 years to come up with a ranch dressing I’m vegan so its a real challenge thought you might have a suggestion. Thanks
Hi Melody! I know EXACTLY what you mean with the dairy free yogurt. This is a tough one! My only thought at the moment is possibly blending cooked chickpeas with olive oil and lemon to get the consistency of the yogurt, then adding in everything else and mixing until smooth. I haven’t tried this, but it’s an idea! I’m going to keep thinking on this one, though. I’ll let you know if I come up with something!
So interesting to use kefir milk in a dressing I’ve never seen that before! Definitely, makes it a healthier and gut-friendly alternative:)
Thanks, Jess! It really makes it so good and loving that it’s gut-friendly, as well!
Well I am ditching any store bought ranch and trying this one out! It looks and sounds amazing! And I mean Homemade is always better right!
So awesome, Kristina! I hope you enjoy the recipe!
