Common Questions

Is mahi-mahi fishy tasting?

Not at all! When it’s cooked properly, mahi-mahi has a mild, slightly sweet taste that goes perfectly in taco recipes.

Is mahi or cod better for fish tacos?

Both work well, but mahi-mahi has a firmer texture while cod is a bit flakier. This means that mahi-mahi holds up better to grilling or pan-searing, making it ideal for healthy tacos!

Is mahi mahi tough to eat?

Mahi-mahi has a firm texture, but it’s not tough to eat. When cooked the right way, it should be tender and moist, making it easy to enjoy in dishes like tacos or grilled fillets!

Should mahi mahi be served rare?

The short answer is no! Unlike other types of fish like tuna or salmon, mahi-mahi isn’t typically served rare. Be sure to cook it to an internal temperature of 137 degrees F to ensure that it’s done while remaining juicy.
