What’s in Taco Seasoning?
- Masa Flour – Masa flour is a fine flour made from dried corn. It’s full of corn flavor and slightly tangy. Not only does it add a little flavor to the taco seasoning, it will help thicken any sauce or liquid you may use the seasoning in.
- Paprika – Made from ground red peppers, paprika is slightly sweet and very mild. I love the way this balances the flavors in this taco seasoning blend.
- Chili Powder – Chili powder adds spice and heat to the seasoning and a delicious chili flavor. You can substitute with ancho chili powder for a fruitier flavor or chipotle chili powder for a smokey flavor.
- Garlic Powder – Pungent and delicious, garlic powder is a necessary player in taco seasoning!
- Cumin – Ground Cumin has an earthy flavor that we all love and are familiar with in taco flavors. Feel free to increase it to 1 Tablespoon if you like it a lot.
- Dried Minced Onion – The texture and slightly sweet flavor of dried minced onion is so so good! If you don’t have it on hand, feel free to substitute it with the same amount of onion powder.
- Salt
