I’ve been making these Snickers Protein Bites on repeat lately and I can’t get over how good they are. They’re creamy, chocolatey, and have that perfect peanut crunch on top! And I love that they come together in under 30 minutes.

They almost taste like Snickers cheesecakes bites, but with a chocolatey topping. If you’ve been looking for a quick healthy desert that’s made with better-for-you ingredients and is higher in protein, you’ll love this easy Snickers Protein Bites Recipe!

Ingredients

  • Vanilla Protein Powder (opens in a new tab) – Adds a boost of protein and flavor. Any plant-based or whey protein will work here!
  • PB2 (opens in a new tab) – The powdered peanut butter creates that rich, nutty flavor without the extra fat. You can sub in natural peanut butter if needed.
  • Coconut Oil
  • Cottage Cheese (opens in a new tab) – Trust me on this one! When blended, it becomes ultra creamy and is packed with protein. Whole milk Greek yogurt works great, too!
  • Maple Syrup – Just a little to sweeten things up naturally. Honey or agave syrup are great substitutions.
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Chocolate Chips – Melted into a smooth topping. I like using dark chocolate chips, but any kind are great.
  • Chopped Peanuts – Totally optional, but they add that iconic Snickers crunch and make these bites feel extra fun!

TIP: I also love adding a little bit of flaky sea salt over each bite!

How to Make Snickers Protein Bites

These protein bites are so easy to make! All you’ll need is a small blender (opens in a new tab) and a mini muffin pan to get started. Here’s how to make Snickers Protein Bites:

  1. Make the crust – Mix the protein powder, PB2, and melted coconut oil together and press into a mini muffin pan.
  2. Blend the base – Combine cottage cheese, maple syrup, vanilla, PB2, and protein powder in a blender until smooth and creamy.
  3. Assemble – Spoon the filling over the crust layer in each muffin cavity.
  4. Top with chocolate – Melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil together, then add a thin layer over each bite.
  5. Add toppings – Sprinkle on chopped peanuts and flaky salt if you’re feeling fancy!
  6. Freeze – Let them set up in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes.

Tips

  • Use a silicone mini muffin pan (opens in a new tab) to make popping these out a breeze. If you’re using a regular pan, line with mini paper liners.
  • Set your muffin pan on a baking sheet before filling and freezing to keep everything level and sturdy.
  • Don’t overdo the chocolate topping – Make sure the layer of chocolate is very thin (otherwise it’ll be too thick to bite through)!
  • Add a pinch of flaky salt on top for that sweet-salty balance. Game changer!

Variation: Snickers Protein Bar

Easily turn this into a Snickers Protein Bar recipe! Here’s how to make it:

  1. Press the crust into a parchment-lined loaf pan.
  2. Pour the blended filling over top.
  3. Add the melted chocolate and toppings.
  4. Freeze, then slice into bars.

Notes

  • If using a silicone muffin pan, I like to set the entire pan on a baking sheet for a sturdy structure while moving it to and from the freezer.
  • The chocolate topping is optional! You can always just mix in chocolate chips instead.
  • These protein bites are best stored in the freezer in an airtight container. When ready to enjoy, let them thaw for a few minutes first!
  • This recipe makes about 24 protein bites (1 serving = 2 bites). However, you could also make 12 larger protein bites instead!
