Every time I bring this Whipped Feta Dip to parties or get-togethers, people go crazy over this delicious appetizer! It’s been my go-to dip for years and it’s always my favorite. Not only does it have that garlicky tangy feta flavor that’s so good, but it also has a perfectly creamy and light texture that’s perfect for dipping chips, veggies, crackers, or anything else. And as a buy mom of 3, I love that this dip comes together in just 5 minutes!

Lemon Feta Dip

Whipped feta dip is definitely having a moment right now, and for good reason. It’s next-level delicious, but also super easy to make and versatile for any occasion! And the fact that it can be made so easily in just a few minutes makes it the best easy appetizer.

While I love bringing it to celebrations and gatherings, it’s also great for just keeping on hand as a healthy snack! My kids love dipping pita bread into it, and I love adding it to basically everything. I’ve had many store-bought feta dips over the years, but nothing compares to this homemade whipped feta!

Why You’ll Love this Whipped Feta

  • Creamy and Tangy – The feta blends with the oil and Greek yogurt to a smooth consistency that is just dreamy. The tanginess is a perfect match for crisp veggies.
  • Healthy and Light – Especially compared to heavier dips, this dip is light and delicious with fresh veggies or whole wheat pita. With only 126 calories and 6 grams of protein, it’s a great way to make snacking on veggies fun.
  • Customizable – This dip is a blank slate! Add honey for a sweeter flavor, chili crunch for some spice, or whatever you’re craving in the moment. I love making this a little different each time.
  • Perfect for Entertaining – Fancy-looking and a definite crowd-pleaser, it’s a great addition to a dinner party or casual gathering.
  • Quick and Easy – Everything blends together in less than 5 minutes and it’s ready to serve! I love it when things look impressive without any fuss.

Whipped Feta Dip Ingredients

The creamy whipped feta dip ingredients whip up so quickly and make a smooth, light dip that is so tasty! The topping and garnish options are truly endless, but I’ve included some that I love. Here’s what you’ll need:

Dip

  • Feta – Use block feta, not crumbled. Block feta comes in a brine that keeps it nice and moist which is perfect for the dip.
  • Greek Yogurt – Creamy and tangy, the Greek yogurt adds silkiness and brings the ingredients together.
  • Lemon Juice – The bright acidity of the lemon juice helps highlight all the herbs.
  • Dried Dill, Dried Thyme, Dried Oregano, and Paprika – These traditional Greek flavors are perfect in this appetizer recipe. You can substitute with 2 teaspoons of your favorite Greek Seasoning as well.
  • Extra Virgin Olive OilEVOO (opens in a new tab) has a strong flavor that stands up well to the rich cheeses and smooths out the tangy bites.

Topping Options

  • Toasted Pine Nuts
  • Minced Garlic
  • Chopped Fresh Parsley, Mint, or Dill
  • Olives
  • Olive Oil
  • Lemon Zest
  • Honey
  • Chopped Walnuts or Pistachios
  • Red Pepper Flakes

How to Make Whipped Feta Dip

This truly may be the easiest appetizer ever! Here’s how to make it:

  1. Add all of the dip ingredients to a blender (opens in a new tab) or food processor and blend them until smooth.
  2. Transfer the dip to a bowl or container and top with your favorite toppings.
  3. Serve with fresh cucumbers, halved grape tomatoes, pita bread, carrots, or whatever else you like!

Tips for Making Whipped Feta

  • Use a block of feta cheese, not crumbled feta. Block feta comes in a brine that keeps it nice and moist. This means you’ll have plenty of moisture to create a smooth dip.
  • Allow the feta to come to room temperature before blending it. I have found, after many recipes blending cheeses, that room-temperature dairy incorporates so much easier.
  • Use a blender or food processor. A hand mixer or stand mixer won’t cut it for this recipe. The high-speed blades whip up the ingredients into creamy goodness!
  • Chill the dip before serving it, if you have the time. This gives all those flavors a chance to come together.
