Tips for grating ginger
Grating fresh ginger can seem intimidating, but it’s actually easier than you may think! Simply cut off a knob of the ginger, then use a spoon to peel the outer skin. Use a grater (a microplane grater (opens in a new tab) works best) to grate the ginger and that’s it! Add it to your favorite smoothies, meals, and anything you want.
Use a lot of ginger? Here’s a tool (opens in a new tab) that can peel, grate, and slice ginger all in one! Another option is to just use ginger powder. (opens in a new tab)

Batch Making Smoothies

Simply blend everything together and pour into mason jars. Add airtight lids and store them in the freezer for up to 2-3 months! When you’re ready to enjoy, thaw the smoothie out the night before in the refrigerator or microwave for 30-60 seconds.

Here’s a Twist on this recipe… for stronger detox results, use a whole lemon peeled and seeded, and two apples instead of one, add Cayenne pepper, thyme, Ceylon cinnamon, turmeric fresh or powdered, and if you wish, substitute the kale for fresh spinach or arugula and cilantro which are both highly detoxifying. Blend with original recipe ingredients (-;
