How to Make Protein Pancakes
To make these Simple 3-Ingredient Protein Pancakes, I used a cookie cutter (opens in a new tab) on a regular pan that helped shape each pancake. Another option (that would honestly be better and faster) would be to use this silver dollar pancake pan! (opens in a new tab) Although the pancakes I made in this recipe are about 4-5 inches and the silver dollar ones are about 3 inches, they’re delicious either way you make them!
3 Ingredient Protein Pancakes Recipe Substitutions & Variations
The base recipe for these pancakes is SO simple and reliable, which makes it perfect for customizing. Whether you’re adjusting for dietary needs or just want to switch things up, here are a few easy substitutions and variations you can try:
-
Make it Vegan:
Swap the eggs for flax eggs (2 tablespoons ground flaxseed + 5 tablespoons water). Let it sit for a few minutes before blending! -
Add Extra Protein:
Mix in a scoop of your favorite protein powder—vanilla or unflavored works great. You might need a little almond milk to thin out the batter. -
Use Quick Oats or Oat Flour:
Don’t have rolled oats? Quick oats or pre-ground oat flour work just as well in a pinch. -
Make it Sweeter:
Add a dash of cinnamon, vanilla extract, or a drizzle of maple syrup right into the batter before cooking. -
Add Mix-Ins:
Blueberries, chocolate chips, chopped nuts—there are so many fun ways to make these pancakes your own! -
Kid-Friendly Option:
Add a little mashed sweet potato or pumpkin purée for a nutrient boost and natural sweetness that little ones love. -
Top It Off:
These pancakes are delicious with fresh fruit, a scoop of Greek yogurt, or a smear of almond butter on top.

Hi is only one pancake 132kcal, and not all 8 right? So it 132kcal per pancake?
Correct, that is per pancake!
Are eggs, protein powder and oats will do? Thanks
I would recommend sticking to the banana as the pancakes need more liquid ingredients than just protein powder. However, feel free to add a little bit of chia seeds!
Oh and can i add chia seeds or ground chia? Which is better? Thanks a lot

Hi, Sahir! It does have a little bit of a banana taste since banana is one of the 3 ingredients. However, feel free to substitute the banana with 1/2-3/4 cup greek yogurt! I hope you enjoy the recipe!
